Location: Harare, Zimbabwe

About the Artist :

“As a young Artist who grew up believing in and practicing Art it became part of me, a part of me that I could not ignore or neglect. Art for me is a very creative and flexible means of communicating with people as it not only makes it easier for people to understand but enhances imagination with the people since they are able to visualize what is being communicated. I believe Art is basically the beauty of/within the universe because in all living and non-living things exists Art. My form/type of Art is solely based on evoking emotions within an audience, telling a story through Art and bringing out the beauty of all things I work on in a unique way. I aim to use the different types of Art I have experience with to show beauty and tell stories of my continent and the rest of the world.”

About the artist:

” I had to discover this as my talent 2017 February so since then I had been working hard up till today. My inspiration comes from the things I see in the environment (society) today, the standard of the world. Well I go for Hyper realism though still trying and working hard to make my works look so real, I was inspired by so many hyper realistic artist on social medias.
My works defines and will also define and inspire people, because I tend to see from the inner reflection of the rays of light shinning in the dept of a pit (I.e I capture my works from the dark). I bring out hidden things that either the society has forgotten about it or don’t know about it. I don’t just try to Make art, before I start up any piece, I make sure there most be an inspiration beneath it. Hyper realism has been what am passioned for not just art or sketch or draw, but to make it look comparable with Lenses pictures.
I make Portraiture works, that’s has much and deeper expression (emotional). Because I see in every path this earth there is either happiness or sadness… “

Name: Mudiwa T Kombora

Medium: Fine Art/ Photography

Nationality: Zimbabwean

About the artist:

“I am an artist of all sorts. The crafts I practice include, photography, painting, carpentry, poetry and film. As I learn more and grow, I intend on getting into sculpting, martial arts, music and any other skill that the lord blesses me with. Exploring  these will help me understand the world through art, in its many forms, and to use that understanding, to connect and unify everyone and everything. As far as defining art goes, all it has to do is trigger people’s  thoughts and emotions in ways that help them.
Knowing that there will always be something for people to relate to, and learn from, that is what I’d like to give  to the world, through art.”

Name: Ken Nwadiogbu
Location: Lagos, Nigeria
Medium: Fine Art
About the artist:
My works are not just inspired by my ability to create large hyper-realistic works with a charcoal pencil, ink, and recently added collage materials, but also my desperate approach to question life, calling out some of the problems and becoming very grounded in human consciousness; creating constructive discourses that define our everyday living and advocating positive changes in the society.

In my works, I display Black power as a timely, bitting subject in large works with black people of assured attitudes permeating project’s oeuvre. I’m very much fascinated with the presence of the human figure and gaze, hence my works tend to nurse a rare and undiluted expression, letting the subjects in my art communicate via their emotions. Gender equality, African cultures, and Black power are also a few aspects of my current research and artistic practice.

Name: Lavance Lining

Media: Fine Art

Location: Atlanta, GA

About the artist:

“For me, art is in my DNA. It’s not something I really force, but more of a feeling. It’s something I’ve done every day since childhood. If there’s a pencil and paper nearby, I’m either writing my thoughts, scribbling, or creating an actual piece.

Right now, my art revolves around my main interests, which are sports, politics, music, and myself (because I think I’m the most interesting person I know..seriously lol) so I draw a lot of self portraits. I want everything I create to be impactful to at least one other person. That shows that I’m not doing what I do for only me.

I think art creates purpose and meaning for me. When I feel lost, I can always pick up a pencil, pen, or brush to write or draw out how I feel. Kind of an extension of my thoughts.”

About the Artist :

“Art for me, I’m sure much like other people, has been both an escape and home; but above all else a form of expression.

I have always been fascinated by the human anatomy. How our bodies function, how we could be made up of so many different components and be so beautiful. My focus is mainly on the female body and I have often been asked why. My answer was always “Because it is the body I know best.” But as time passed I realized there is more to it. From the very start nudity, particularly the female body has been sexualized and objectified.

We have been made to feel ashamed for having all sorts of body types and body shapes. At some point we are even taught to be ashamed of our own anatomy; it is only recently that women speak freely about issues like menstruation. And God forbid a woman shows a nipple, either to breastfeed or because she simply chooses to, without being called out for it. This has led to the pardoning of crimes like sexual assault notably rape.

The role of my art is to bring to attention the fact that nudity isn’t inherently sexual; it is a pretty natural state.”

“We are all born naked, screaming and covered in someone else’s blood”

“Art, in all its forms, is my greatest passion. To me, art provides a way for people to see the same thing from so many different perspectives, a way for people to learn and a way for people to be introduced to beautiful and unfamiliar concepts. My art focuses on the human figure and attempts to find different, colourful and creative ways of putting character on paper. I’ve been drawing and painting for many years now, and I have no intention of stopping any time soon. “

About the Artist:

For me my art practice is often a sort of escapism from the bombardment of media we are faced with in today’s society, I often create watercolor prints that have no particular context, but their journey doesn’t end there as I like to play with the idea of weight and materiality by printing onto fabric and using them as an object to assemble, diverting there original purpose of being an commodity for human consumption.
