“I’d like to call myself a creative before I call myself an artist, because that word carries a lot of weight and I believe I’m not there yet, so instead I’ll call myself a creator. A poet. I am dabbling in photography right now but to me I see it as my visual poetry.”
“Stone Faces is a collection of photographs of sculptures in Rome. I initially focused this collection on the virtues these sculptures echoed, however there isn’t enough literature about that on each of them. So I took a subjective view, and I was revealed.
“The artist’s Idea process is influenced by personal experiences and feelings and memories communicated such as narratives which acknowledge and address issues of ones identity ,the misrepresentation ,oppression and objectification experienced by women of colour and the intersectionality in these issues hope to awaken a critical conscious.”
” Art means to be a way of life and nature of life that can be only expressed by a certain individual, this individual then recreates with his brush, camera, word etc what he has seen with his eyes. Most of the time The artist work is a unique creation of his mind and can’t really be replicated and if does won’t have the exact meaning. For me my eyes, heart and mind work in line with my camera and I express exactly how I feel with my camera.”
“I’m a self-taught photographer based in Harare, Zimbabwe. I’m often asked what my favorite type of photography is and I can’t really say to be honest. I just enjoy shooting and it changes from day-to-day. What I enjoy most about photography is probably the opportunity to allow the world to see life through my eyes. I also love being able to create many different stories off of one still image. I’m intrigued by how people interpret the same image differently.”
